 | Thursday, August 29th, 2013: Vigil Breezes to Shutout Victory José Vigil effectively shut down the Spelunkers today, blanking them 8-0 on 3 hits, ringing up 8 strikeouts and allowing 2 walks. The Centennials pitcher appeared to get stronger as the game went on. "I don't know if I was getting any stronger," Vigil said after the game, "I feel like my mechanics were getting better. I was able to make some adjustments and get a little more comfortable out there." The Spelunkers skipper said, "We had some opportunities, but weren't able to execute. We just didn't swing the bats very well today." Vigil in 2013 has fashioned a 8-2 mark, 2.23 ERA and thrown 96.2 innings in 13 starts. Opposing clubs are batting .223 against him. |
