Sunday, July 28th, 2013: Williams Batters Melrose Park for 5 Hits
5 times is a charm -- at least in the world of baseball. When a player gets 5 or more hits in a game, he is honored in the record book and the latest honoree is Lawrence Williams of the Merritt Centennials.

He tore up the Melrose Park Generals to the tune of 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the Merritt 12-0 win today at Centennials Ballpark.

"Williams was a tough out today," the Melrose Park manager said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure."

L. Williams doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.

In the 2013 season Williams has hit .396 with 1 home run, 24 RBIs and scored 19 runs.
