 | Sunday, May 5th, 2013: Burrows Gets 5 Hits There are moments in a player's career that are etched into their memories forever. Fred Burrows of the Davao Water Buffalos had one of those moments when he went 5 for 5 at the plate today in the 13-1 win over the Boston Slammers at Water Buffalos Ballpark. The 19-year-old right fielder told reporters in the postgame interview, "This is a day I won't forget soon, but I'll settle to just get a hit or two every day...enough hits to hang around the league a little bit longer... like 10... 15 more years maybe." F. Burrows hit a two-run single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off C. James in the 7th. So far this season Burrows has gotten 26 hits in 102 at-bats for a .255 batting average with 2 home runs. His stats include 9 RBIs and 14 runs scored. He has played in 29 games. |
