 | Monday, September 17th, 2012: Outstanding Pitcher Award Goes to Hagerstown Hurler Poise, confidence and good stuff -- a great combination that brought Jorge Álvarez the Eastern League Outstanding Pitcher Award this year. This Hagerstown mound star excelled all season long with an impressive 15-4 mark. In 23 starts Álvarez tossed 163.2 innings, fashioning an impressive 2.20 ERA. He held opposing hitters to a .248 average, struck out 78 and walked 36. This weekend Álvarez will be honored by the SION Baseball Writers Association at its annual awards dinner. |
