 | Wednesday, August 8th, 2012: 5-Hit Barrage by Knapp Steve Knapp told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard." Well, that's just what Knapp of the Sendai Swords did against the Saskatoon Pioneers. He went to the plate 5 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, much to the chagrin of the Pioneers, who suffered a 8-4 defeat. "Not much that I can say," offered the losing manager, "he just hammered the heck out of us." S. Knapp doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Y. Sugiura in the 8th. So far in 2012, Knapp is batting .344 with 7 home runs and 39 RBIs. |
