 | Friday, June 22nd, 2012: Red-Hot Besson Scorches Black Riders All game long Omaha's Rafaël Besson was rattling the walls at Omaha Grounds and banging out base hits against the Long Island Black Riders. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Barnstormers had a 10-7 victory. Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 22-year-old shortstop said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this." R. Besson hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off R. Pomardi in the 8th. This year Besson is batting .315 with 81 hits, 3 home runs, 32 RBIs, 11 walks, .351 OBP and has scored 30 runs. |
