 | Monday, April 15th, 2013: Vázquez 5-6 for Chiefs It was high-5 day at Chiefs Ballpark, at least for Ramón Vázquez of the Langley Chiefs. He got a lot of high-5's from his teammates for his outstanding hitting against the Delaware Smash. Vázquez smashed 5 hits in 6 at-bats on a his record-setting day, leading his club to a 11-8 win. His manager said, "Ramón was hitting everything. It really was a special game for him." In the other dugout the opposing manager told SION beat writers, "He ambushed my boys today. Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but luckily, tomorrow is another day. Hopefully it will be our day to shine." R. Vázquez singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, walked in the 6th, flied out in the 7th, singled in the 9th and hit a solo-shot off L. Côté in the 11th. In 2013 Vázquez has produced 17 hits in 56 at-bats for a .304 average with 1 home run and gotten on base at a .361 clip. |
