 | Friday, April 12th, 2013: Encarnación Goes 5-6 Against Delaware It's not something you read in the sports pages everyday -- a 5-for-6 day. It may only come around once in a career -- a lot of players never have one -- but Armando Encarnación got one today. He scattered hits all over Khrushchev Ballpark to pace Kiev to a 17-5 victory over Delaware. The Delaware skipper told reporters in the press room, "Tip your hat to him. He hit some good pitches. According to the scouting report, Encarnación hit several that he is not supposed to hit." A. Encarnación singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 6th, hit a three-run triple in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 7th. During the 2013 season Encarnación has hit .302 with no home runs and 11 RBIs. He has played in 11 games and scored 7 times. |
