 | Wednesday, July 16th, 2014: Kanunov Belts 5 Hits Who needs batting practice? Taras Kanunov of Killarney apparently doesn't as he battered Alaska with a 5-hit outburst in today's game to lead his club to a 17-7 win. He told the press after the game, "And I didn't even take BP today. I think I have been taking too many swings before game and decided to take a day off. Wow, this was really something... a 5 for 6 day... will my name be in the record books now?" T. Kanunov singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and hit a two-run single in the 9th. Looking at his season stats, Kanunov has compiled a .250 batting average and a .300 on-base percentage, while hitting 2 home runs and driving in 30 runs. |
