 | Friday, June 6th, 2014: Red-Hot Hooper Scorches Black Riders J.J. Hooper really sizzled at the plate today. In a game played at Swords Ballpark, the Sendai shortstop blistered the Long Island Black Riders for 5 hits in 7 at-bats to pace his club to a 7-6 victory. "Hooper was too tough to get out today," the Black Riders skipper said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." J. Hooper singled in the 1st, hit an RBI triple in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th, flied out in the 11th and hit a solo-shot off S. Grabowska in the 14th. Thus far in 2014 Hooper is batting .237 with 2 home runs, 32 RBIs and 29 runs scored. |
