Friday, May 16th, 2014: Year Over for Black Riders Canó
The doctors have spoken and Armando Canó of the Long Island Black Riders didn't like what he heard. The 21-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Canó sustained his season-ending injury during the Bensenville Blaze game yesterday at Ballpark of Long Island. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Long Island medical staff reported Canó had bone chips in his elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 7 months.

So far in 2014 Canó has compiled a 4-2 record with a 5.18 ERA.
