 | Saturday, April 5th, 2014: Great Day for Sánchez -- 5 Hits On top of the Saskatoon hit parade today was César Sánchez. He went to the plate 7 times and marched away with 5 hits, sparking the Pioneers to a 10-9 victory over the Madagascar Dragons. He certainly had their number at the plate in this record-making 5-7 performance. The sweet swinging shortstop told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats." The skipper of the Dragons wailed to the press, "Too much plate. Not the way we planned it. Any hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." C. Sánchez walked in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off C. Dowd in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 9th, struck out in the 11th and hit an RBI double in the 12th.
