GUBA Single A News Article | | | Tuesday, August 6th, 2013: Piratas Pitching Ravaged by Colón Players get multi-hit games all the time. But a 5-hit game only comes around once in a blue moon. It happened at Swords Ballpark when Juan Colón of Sendai scattered 5 hits all over the ballpark against the Campeche Piratas.
He walloped 5 hits in 6 at-bats in his career-day performance to help the Swords get by the Piratas 6-4.
In a talkative and jovial mood after the game, the right fielder of the Swords exclaimed, "Whoa, my swing was really, really there today. I made some good, sweet-spot contact and when that happens...good things happen...like 5-6. I could get used to a lot of days like this one."
J. Colón singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th and hit a two-run home run off D. Diehl in the 11th.
Posting a .330 batting average to date, Colón has 6 home runs and 49 RBIs. | |
