 | Wednesday, May 8th, 2013: Owens on Rampage Against Brawlers! There are moments in a player's career that they will not soon forget. Dave Owens of the Grizzlies had one of those moments when he went 5 for 5 at the plate today, but he couldn't pull out the victory. Despite his hitting heroics, Victoria fell in defeat 7-6 to the Perth Brawlers at Ballpark of Victoria. The 27-year-old shortstop told reporters in the postgame interview, "This was quite a day for me individually, but a little disheartening at the same time. It would have been very special, if we had won the game." D. Owens singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off W. Underwood in the 9th. So far this season Owens is hitting .333 with 4 home runs, 11 RBIs and 24 runs scored. He has 49 hits in 147 at-bats and a .357 OBP. |
