 | Friday, April 12th, 2013: Boyd Slaps 5 Hits 5 hits in 7 at-bats. It doesn't happen every day, and when it does, it's exciting. Today Shane Boyd of the Lisbon Mariners had a sensational 5-7 game against Atlantic City at Mariners Ballpark. He rifled base hits all over the ballpark in his team's 6-3 shellacking of the Gamblers. In the postgame press conference he joked, "Heck, that's a week's worth of hitting for me and I did it all in one day. I guess I can take the rest of the week off...Right, skipper?" S. Boyd singled in the 1st, struck out in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 11th, doubled in the 14th and hit a two-run home run off F. Labbé in the 15th. This season Boyd is batting .400 with 5 RBIs, 6 runs scored and 1 home run. |
