 | Tuesday, August 5th, 2014: Hit Parade: Morrow Gets Cycle At Anchorage Grounds today Evan Morrow led Anchorage to a 5-3 victory over the Sharks by hitting for the cycle, one of baseball's most difficult feats. The Frigates second baseman told reporters after the game, "Most people think the triple is the hardest one to get, but today, it was the homer... because the ball wasn't carrying. When I took it deep, I expected the ball to die on the warning track. Seeing the umpire give me the signal to circle the bases was sweet." In addition to going 5-5, Morrow chalked up 2 runs batted in and scored 3 runs in an exceptional performance. E. Morrow singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, tripled in the 7th, walked in the 9th and hit a two-run home run off J. Bracelino in the 11th. For the season, Morrow is hitting at a .328 clip with 7 home runs, 45 RBIs and has scored 76 runs. He has 138 hits, 49 walks and a .396 on-base percentage. |
