GUBA Double A News Article | | | Monday, July 7th, 2014: Grimard Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits After the Seattle 8-4 victory over Niigata and his 5-hit day left fielder Ivan Grimard told BNN beat writers, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college ball, two hits in a game is very good... three or four hits even better... 5 or more are out of sight... and if it is in pro ball... it is really something special. It will get you in the record books."
The 22-year-old player gained that distinction today at Storm Ballpark with a spectacular 5 for 5 game against the Niigata Ninjas.
The skipper of the Storm spoke glowingly of Grimard, telling BNN writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Ivan did that to perfection today."
I. Grimard doubled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off T. Jensen in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off S. Hirai in the 8th.
Grimard is hitting .302 in 2014 with 10 home runs, 61 RBIs and 49 runs scored. He has 103 hits in 341 at-bats and played in 82 games. | |
