 | Monday, July 7th, 2014: Injury Sidelines Dean Hoffman for Season The doctors have spoken and Dean Hoffman of the Shanghai Raiders didn't like what he heard. The 25-year-old second baseman is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Hoffman sustained his season-ending injury during the Yellow Springs Nine game yesterday at Raiders Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while colliding with a player at a base. Today the Shanghai medical staff reported Hoffman had a fractured elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 8 months. So far this year in 47 games Hoffman is hitting .302 with 2 home runs, 24 RBIs and 16 runs scored. |
