 | Sunday, June 15th, 2014: 5-Hit Game for Cleveland It was high-5 day at Ballpark of Niigata, at least for George Cleveland of the Niigata Ninjas. He got a lot of high-5's from his teammates for his outstanding hitting against the Death Valley Sunfire. Cleveland smashed 5 hits in 7 at-bats on his record-setting day, leading his club to a 11-10 win. His manager said, "George was hitting everything. It really was a special game for him." In the other dugout the opposing manager told BNN beat writers, "He ambushed my boys today. Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but luckily, tomorrow is another day. Hopefully it will be our day to shine." G. Cleveland doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit a two-run single in the 8th, grounded out in the 10th and hit a solo-shot off L. White in the 13th. So far this year Cleveland is batting .311 with 1 home run. |
