Wednesday, May 21st, 2014: Crabtree Fashions Shutout Against Tennessee
"That's one thing that has never changed in this game -- pitching can control hitting," the Pints manager told reporters after today's game.

The Smokies ran into a buzzsaw as Chris Crabtree cut them down to size 6-0 with a 5-hit shutout.

His skipper added, "He knows exactly what he's doing. He's not going to throw you a good pitch until you make him throw one."

In the complete game whitewash the Derry hurler doled out 2 walks and registered 3 strikeouts.

In the postgame press conference his catcher said, "Chris goes out there and just goes about his business. I don't think he gets too concerned about what's going on. You can call any pitch and you know where he's going to be."

Crabtree also got some praise from the Tennessee manager.

"He really kept us in check today. Everything looked to be moving. Seemed like the pitch was right down the middle and it went over down and away... we took some pathetic swings."

Up to now Crabtree has recorded a record of 4-5. In 11 starts he has fanned 42 batters in 76 innings with a 2.84 ERA.
