 | Sunday, May 18th, 2014: Barron 5-6 Against Drums Shayne Barron exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Ballpark of Cuba. The Cuba right fielder had a field day in the 17-7 triumph over the Congo Drums, finishing with a 5-6 day and a spot in the league record book. "My hitting philosophy is pretty simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Well, Barron must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat. S. Barron doubled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th. So far this season Barron is batting .242 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs and 15 runs scored. He has 39 hits in 161 at-bats, 12 walks and a .295 OBP. Barron has played in 44 games. |
