 | Wednesday, May 7th, 2014: No Hits for Bunch, String Runs out at 23 Victor Bunch, right fielder for the Shanghai Raiders, gave it a good try, but his day in history finally came to an end, when he went hitless in 4 tries against the Arlington Heights Godzillas. Not only had they stopped his 23-game hitting streak, they had beaten Shanghai 3-1, too. Speaking with the media after the game, Bunch said, "Now that the streak has ended, I admit I will breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat. It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate." So far this season Bunch is batting .381 with 1 home run, 20 RBIs and 23 runs scored. He has 48 hits in 126 at-bats, 9 walks and a .417 OBP. Bunch has played in 33 games. |
