Thursday, May 1st, 2014: Yellow Springs Loses Mendoza for Season
Yellow Springs second baseman Pedro Mendoza could miss the remainder of the season because of a torn thigh muscle. He exited yesterday's Hawaii game after injuring himself while running the bases. The original diagnosis said Mendoza would be out 8 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer.

"He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."

Mendoza's current batting average stands at .299 and he has chalked up 1 home run and 10 RBIs.
