GUBA Double A News Article | | | Saturday, August 10th, 2013: Alakai on Rampage Against Raiders! After the Easley 13-2 loss to Shanghai and his 5-hit day second baseman Inaki Alakai told SION beat writers, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college ball, two hits in a game is very good...three or four hits even better...5 or more are out of sight...and if it is in pro ball...it is really something special. It will get you in the record books, but you won't necessarily win the ballgame."
The 21-year-old player got into the record book today with a spectacular 5 for 5 game against the Shanghai Raiders.
The skipper of the Unrecognizable Blobs spoke glowingly of Alakai, telling SION writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Inaki did that to perfection today. I just wish some more our players swung the bat as good as him. We might have won the game."
I. Alakai singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
In 2013 Alakai is hitting .259, batted in 26 runs with 1 home run and 47 runs scored. | |
