He told his pitching philosophy to sportswriters in the postgame interview after his 4-0 victory over Seoul. He blanked them on a 5-hitter, allowed 1 walk and had 5 strikeouts. "I really felt comfortable the whole game," Mejía said. His manager echoed his comments, saying, "He hit his spots time and time again." So far this year Mejía has made 17 starts, tossed 102.2 innings, struck out 55 batters and walked 35. His record is 8-7 with a 4.65 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .272 batting average. |
