 | Wednesday, August 15th, 2012: Liberators Otero Fires No-Hitter Mario Otero was untouchable today at Port-au-Prince Fields, displaying a good fastball, a wicked curve and an unhittable change in his 4-0 win against the Hattiesburg Eagles. The Port-au-Prince hurler did not allow a single hit, fanning 5 while walking 1 and entering the record books. "Hey, this is great," Otero told reporters after the game. "Every pitcher wants a no-hitter. This is nice, but I just want to win. The no-hitter is just a little extra icing on the victory cake." To date in 2012, Otero sports a 4-10 mark with a 4.39 ERA in 21 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .295 batting average and has 73 strikeouts in 133.1 innings. |
