 | Sunday, August 12th, 2012: Moreno Torches Throwing Stars for 6 Hits During a player's career, there are days that stand out, and this day was definitely special! Jesús Moreno went 6 for 6 against the Yokoham Throwing Stars at Ballpark of West Freehold and the Schooners picked up a 12-5 victory. He exclaimed, "What a day! We win and I get 6 hits! Couldn't be better!" The delighted catcher was really enjoying the happiness of the moment in the press room. "He was patient up there today," the West Freehold skipper told the press after the game. "I like the way he waited for his pitch and wasn't overly agressive. Moreno has a tendency to go after some bad balls sometimes." J. Moreno singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off M. Medina in the 9th. In 102 games Moreno is hitting .229 this season for the Schooners with 86 hits, 7 home runs, 48 RBIs, 35 walks, .303 OBP and has scored 47 runs . |
