Young-min Kim of the West Freehold Schooners had one of those moments when he went 5 for 5 at the plate today in the 12-5 win over the Yokoham Throwing Stars at Ballpark of West Freehold.
The 23-year-old shortstop told reporters in the postgame interview, "This is a day I won't forget soon, but I'll settle to just get a hit or two every day...enough hits to hang around the league a little bit longer... like 10... 15 more years maybe."
Y. Kim singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off S. Berry in the 4th, singled in the 6th, walked in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
In 2012 Kim has produced 115 hits in 398 at-bats for a .289 average with 7 home runs and gotten on base at a .364 clip. | |
