 | Saturday, July 26th, 2014: Shewman Belts 5 Hits Ben Shewman really sizzled at the plate today. The Limerick second baseman blistered the Claxton Blue Knights for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in his club's 9-8 defeat. "Shewman was too tough to get out today," the Blue Knights skipper said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too. But hey, I don't mind if every game somebody gets 5 hits off us, as long as we win. That's the bottom line. We ain't playin' for stats." B. Shewman singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and tripled in the 10th. Currently Shewman is hitting .317 and has collected 4 home runs, 36 RBIs and scored 33 times, while playing in 58 games. |
