GUBA Triple A News Article | | | Friday, July 18th, 2014: Jensen Belts Bunch of Base Hits What a day for Ted Jensen of the Nashville Sounds! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen every day! He ripped Claxton pitching apart at Sounds Ballpark and sparked the Sounds to a 10-3 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing his special day 5 for 5.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Jensen told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that."
T. Jensen hit a solo-shot off J. Daniels in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off B. Akers in the 8th.
Presently Jensen is batting .276 with 29 hits and 3 home runs. He has knocked in 13 runs and scored 12 times. | |
