 | Monday, July 7th, 2014: Hernández Caps Great Week 26-year-old Emílio Hernández sent shock waves through GUBA Triple A last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Eastern League Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Hernández made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .417 average, 10 hits in 24 at-bats, 2 home runs and 7 RBI. Where the New Orleans Crawdads center fielder goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Hernández certainly made his mark last week. This season Hernández has delivered 52 hits in 170 at-bats for a .306 average with 8 home runs. He is getting on base at a .391 clip and his totals also include 41 RBIs and 29 runs scored. This year Hernández has played in 48 games. |
