 | Tuesday, June 24th, 2014: Pérez Bangs out 5 Base Hits If the Limerick Leprechauns know how best to pitch the Melbourne third baseman Jesús Pérez they didn't tip their hand today. Instead Pérez showed he knew how best to hit them as he easily handled Leprechauns pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Admirals to a 4-0 triumph at Admirals Ballpark. He told BNN reporters in the postgame interview, "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball." The Limerick skipper quipped, "Well, the next time we may just do that... blindfold him... and then pitch him differently, just to be sure." J. Pérez hit a solo-shot off C. Ortega in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. In the 2014 season Pérez is hitting .291 with 6 home runs. |
