GUBA Triple A News Article | | | Wednesday, June 18th, 2014: Rice Slams 5 Hits for New York Players get multi-hit games all the time. But a 5-hit game only comes around once in a blue moon. It happened at Ballpark of New York when William Rice of New York scattered 5 hits all over the ballpark against the Pacolet Prancing Pansies.
He walloped 5 hits in 5 at-bats in his career-day performance to help the Freedom get by the Prancing Pansies 9-2.
In a talkative and jovial mood after the game, the shortstop of the Freedom exclaimed, "Whoa, my swing was really, really there today. I made some good, sweet-spot contact and when that happens... good things happen... like 5-5. I could get used to a lot of days like this one."
W. Rice singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and walked in the 9th.
To date this season Rice is hitting .307 with no home runs. | |
