 | Tuesday, June 17th, 2014: Nakanishi Socks it to Knights, Cracks 5 Hits On top of the Calgary hit parade today was Subaru Nakanishi. He went to the plate 5 times and marched away with 5 hits, sparking the Marauders to a 6-4 victory over the Oakland Knights. He certainly had their number at the plate in this record-making 5-5 performance. The sweet swinging first baseman told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats." The skipper of the Knights wailed to the press, "Too much plate. Not the way we planned it. Any hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." S. Nakanishi hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th. During the current season Nakanishi is batting at a .250 clip with 2 home runs and 16 RBIs. He has played in 35 games and scored 15 times. |
