 | Wednesday, June 11th, 2014: Injury Sidelines Martinez For Year The season is ending on a bad note for Vicente Martinez, center fielder for the Melbourne Admirals. It was announced today that he will miss the rest of the season because of injury. Martinez was hurt against the Samoan Navigators while running the bases. He suffered a fractured foot and will be out for at least 7 months. Looking at his 2014 season stats, Martinez has compiled a .243 batting average in 63 games with a .286 on-base percentage, while hitting 1 home run and driving in 14 runs. |
