 | Friday, May 30th, 2014: Great Day for Estrada -- 5 Hits After the Indianapolis 6-5 victory over Calgary and his 5-hit day center fielder António Estrada told BNN beat writers, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college ball, two hits in a game is very good... three or four hits even better... 5 or more are out of sight... and if it is in pro ball... it is really something special. It will get you in the record books." The 24-year-old player gained that distinction today at Racers Ballpark with a spectacular 5 for 7 game against the Calgary Marauders. The skipper of the Racers spoke glowingly of Estrada, telling BNN writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. António did that to perfection today." A. Estrada tripled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 7th, grounded out in the 9th, singled in the 12th, singled in the 14th and grounded out in the 16th. In the 2014 season Estrada has hit .270 with no home runs, 29 RBIs and scored 27 runs. |
