 | Monday, May 19th, 2014: Big Bat Bags WL Best Player Award The hottest bat of the week belonged to Caracas left fielder Enrique Silva. He went on a rampage last week against WL hurlers and rapped out 10 hits in 17 at-bats for a .588 average while hitting 4 home runs, driving in 8 runs and scoring 7 runs -- numbers quite worthy of the Western League Player of the Week trophy. Silva was honored today at a press conference. In 26 games this season Silva has batted at a .393 pace with 24 hits and 7 home runs. |
