GUBA Triple A News Article | | | Friday, May 2nd, 2014: Big Day with Bat: Sloan 5-5 It was a sensational day at the plate for Roger Sloan as he led the charge to a 17-2 win over the Talons.
The Mount Prospect right fielder was pure misery for the Phoenix pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
The manager for the Talons told BNN reporters after the game, "Sloan put the ball into play. He really hit it hard. When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
R. Sloan hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off J. Unknown in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off J. Unknown in the 7th and walked in the 9th.
This season-to-date Sloan has 4 home runs and a .235 batting average. | |
