 | Saturday, April 5th, 2014: Kojima Bangs out 5 Base Hits Knights left fielder,Yukinaga Kojima, had his way with Caracas pitching today at Oakland Grounds and mauled them for 5 hits in 7 at-bats, but it was all in vain. The Roughnecks ruined his great day by outscoring the Knights 14-9. He told reporters after the game, "I had a great day, but you got to give Caracas credit, they did what they had to do to win the game. They weren't very impressed with my 5 hits after all is said and done. They did what they had to do -- win the game." The Roughnecks skipper added, "Oh, I think we noticed what Kojima did today. He had quite a game. I can tell you this, we will pitch him a little differently the next time we face him." Y. Kojima hit a two-run home run off L. Herrera in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 8th, struck out in the 9th and singled in the 12th. |
