 | Wednesday, July 31st, 2013: Romero Fires Shutout in St. Paul Win Eduardo Romero of the St. Paul Swing spun his magic on the New Orleans Crawdads today. He blanked them 6-0 on 3 hits, registering 6 strikeouts and no walks. "The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Romero said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down." Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, the St. Paul skipper said, "We got solid pitching, good defense and we took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations. This was just a solid performance by everyone." So far in 17 starts this season, Romero has recorded 8 wins and sustained 6 losses. He has pitched 122.2 innings, yielded 108 hits, fanned 100 and has a 3.60 ERA. |
