 | Monday, May 20th, 2013: Varzumov Guns Down Suns Yermolay Varzumov of the West Freehold Schooners spun his magic on the Marquette Suns today. He blanked them 4-0 on 3 hits, registering 6 strikeouts and 2 walks. "The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Varzumov said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down." Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, the West Freehold skipper said, "We got solid pitching, good defense and we took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations. This was just a solid performance by everyone." This year Varzumov has a 2-3 record with a 3.89 ERA in 6 starts. |
