 | Tuesday, May 7th, 2013: Burgos Sensational, 5-5 It was a hits blitz for Sergio Burgos at Quakes Stadium. The Los Angeles Quakes third baseman tore into Washington for 5 hits in 5 at-bats to pace Quakes to a 7-3 victory and wrote his name into the baseball record book. The manager for the Bobwhites bemoaned his pitching, saying, "We fell behind and weren't locating well. Once you get behind in the count, you have to make real good pitches, rather than good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today." He added, "Not to take anything away from Burgos, but bad location was the story of the ballgame. That's why we lost the game." S. Burgos hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off F. López in the 8th. In his 2013 season totals, Burgos has 3 home runs, .393 BA, .485 OBP, 27 RBIs and 26 runs scored. |
