 | Thursday, September 13th, 2012: Crusaders McKain Blanks Bandits "He was kind of teasing them with his offspeed stuff and his fastball was moving everywhere," the California skipper said in postgame comments after Ken McKain had shut out the Birmingham Bandits 3-0 on a 5-hit masterpiece. McKain numbered 7 strikeouts and issued 2 walks in a gem of a performance. "We just didn't swing the bats very well . . . or he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," complained the Birmingham manager after the defeat. In 2012, McKain has a 19-6 mark in 33 starts with a 2.37 ERA. He has given up 211 hits in 254 innings, struck out 238 and issued 50 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .226 batting average against him. |
