 | Monday, August 27th, 2012: Sao Paulo Shortstop Picked FIBB Player of the Week The Player of the Week has been chosen by the Federation of International Baseball. The award went to António Barrera, shortstop of the Sao Paulo Surf. In a sensational hitting performance, he wrecked league pitchers with a .476 average to win the honor. Barrera went 10-21 for the week, totaled 4 home runs and 9 RBIs and scored 8 times. Thus far this season in 124 games Barrera is batting .246 with 13 home runs, 57 RBIs and 58 runs scored. He has 111 hits in 451 at-bats. |
