 | Saturday, August 11th, 2012: Martínez Hurls Masterpiece The London Spitfires were almost helpless today in their 7-0 loss to Paris hurler Arturo Martínez. He kept them confused the entire ballgame and spun a 4-hit shutout. The London manager said in the postgame interview, "Tip your hat to Martínez. He kept us off balance all night." Martínez said, "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play. It was just one of those games that things went my way." He had 2 walks and 3 strikeouts in a strong performance. To date this season, Martínez has a record of 8 wins and 9 losses and a 4.45 ERA. He has appeared in 24 games and struck out 68 in 125.1 innings. |
