 | Wednesday, August 1st, 2012: Johannesburg Diamonds and Surf Agree to Trade A trade between the Johannesburg Diamonds and the Sao Paulo Surf was made official this morning. The Johannesburg Diamonds have sent 20-year old minor league starting pitcher Lorenzo Gonzáles and 21-year old minor league second baseman Javier Silva to the Sao Paulo Surf in exchange for 24-year old right fielder Eric Boyd. Thus far this season in 82 games Boyd is batting .285 with 14 home runs, 45 RBIs and 32 runs scored. He has 70 hits in 246 at-bats. |
