 | Monday, March 25th, 2013: Gaines Out 1-2 Weeks with Injury
It took the Johannesburg team doctor a while to realize it, but reliever John Gaines won't simply play through dead arm syndrome after he got hurt throwing a pitch in today's Spitfires-Diamonds game. At first, it looked like Gaines might be back as early as tomorrow, but now the prognosis isn't quite so good; he's expected to miss at least 1-2 weeks. A spokesman for the club described the loss of Gaines as a blow, but was confident that he'd be back soon.
