 | Sunday, July 14th, 2013: 5-Hits Blitz by Paris's Mendoza! It was high-5 day at Ballpark of Paris, at least for Carlos Mendoza of the Paris Guillotines. He got a lot of high-5's for his outstanding hitting against the Mexico City Diablos Rojos, but he and his teammates couldn't pull out a win. Mendoza smashed 5 hits in 5 at-bats on a his record-setting day, but Paris still dropped the game 10-8. His manager said, "Carlos was hitting everything. It really was a special game for him. Too bad the other guys couldn't rise to the occasion and get the victory." In the other dugout the opposing manager told SION beat writers, "Mendoza bushwhacked my boys today. Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but luckily, we won the ballgame." C. Mendoza singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. Mendoza has collected 108 hits for the Guillotines this year, 25 of them home runs. He has also netted 74 RBIs and scored 54 runs while batting .291. |
