 | Wednesday, June 26th, 2013: González Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits It was high-5 day at Manila Grounds, at least for Alfredo González of the Manila Volcanoes. He got a lot of high-5's from his teammates for his outstanding hitting against the Auckland Warriors. González smashed 5 hits in 8 at-bats on a his record-setting day, leading his club to a 5-4 win. His manager said, "Alfredo was hitting everything. It really was a special game for him." In the other dugout the opposing manager told SION beat writers, "He ambushed my boys today. Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but luckily, tomorrow is another day. Hopefully it will be our day to shine." A. González doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, tripled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, struck out in the 10th, flied out in the 12th and grounded out in the 14th. This season González has hit at a .331 clip with 19 RBIs, 4 home runs and 53 runs scored. |
